Where the Money Goes

The Pink Tulip Project is a fund raising project that benefits the Women's Cancer Fund at the Maine Cancer Foundation.

Established in 2001 Women's Cancer Fund insures that resources are always available for breast and other cancers that affect women. Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in women, and ranks second among cancer deaths in women behind lung cancer. The mission of the Women's Cancer Fund remains the same as the Foundations with grants awarded through competitive, open peer review.

The Pink Tulip Project is a growing source of funds for the Women's Cancer Fund. 100% of all funds raised by the registered gardens of the Pink Tulip Project go directly to the Women's Cancer Fund. Since 2006, the Pink Tulip Project has contributed $119,216 to the fund.

The Pink Tulip Project is making great strides in raising funds throughout the state. Combined with additional breast cancer fundraisers throughout the year, memorial and other gifts, the Women's Cancer Fund has become a significant source of funding in Maine.
