CRI-SIL Silicone Technologies has generously joined Mary's Walk this year as the event's first-ever presenting sponsor, donating $15,000 to help the fight against cancer here in Maine.
“The 15th year is a big milestone for us,” said Libby. “When we started this event in 1999, it was only a few hundred friends walking together to remember Mary. This year, we will be walking on St. Patrick’s Day and expect three or four thousand people to turn out and help us paint the town green.”
Mary’s Walk is named after the late Mary Kerry Libby, an avid walker remembered for her daily strolls down Main Street in Saco. The fundraiser has grown into a “rite of spring” for the Saco-Biddeford region, and includes a popular 5K race and a community celebration hosted by area restaurants.
“I’m proud to announce that CRI-SIL Silicone Technologies has agreed to become our first-ever presenting sponsor,” said Libby. “I have known Mark Stevens for a long time and his hard work and dedication to his business, the CRI-SIL Team and community deserve to be recognized.” Mark Stevens, CEO and founder of CRI-SIL Silicone Technologies, along with his partner Michael Hirschy, President is a provider of custom formulated silicone materials, located in Biddeford.
“We are a local business and I can’t think of a better way to have CRI-SIL and our great CRI-SIL Team involved in the community,” said Stevens. “Cancer is a problem we all share.”
